EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

**CADET ENGINEER**

The Shire of Mingenew is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from active, self-motivated individuals who have a strong desire to pursue a career in Engineering. This Cadetship program will offer you the opportunity to gain hands on experience assisting Council’s Works team to build and maintain the Shire’s infrastructure and assets. Council offers a professional environment; modern technology and mentoring opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have a willingness to learn and apply themselves to their studies. Tuition support and paid study leave is provided as part of the cadetship.

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering discipline degree at university
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to use Microsoft Office programs e.g. Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Current and valid Driver’s Licence (“C” class minimum)

Desirable

  • WA White Card

Please note that prior to appointment, the preferred candidate may be required to provide a National Police Check (no more than 3 months old) and a pre-employment medical, at the Shire’s expense. Screening results may impact a recruitment decision based on a reasonable assessment of risk associated with performance of duties.
